More than 300 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the state Friday

Augusta, Maine (WAGM) - 321 new COVID 19 cases were reported in the state Friday, bringing the total number to 21,547. Two additional deaths were also reported, bringing that total to 319 since the pandemic began. 29 people have recovered from the virus, leaving 10,121 active cases statewide.
In the County, 5 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 482. No additional deaths and one recovery were also reported. There are 326 active cases in Aroostook County.
The next COVID-19 briefing will be Monday, December 28th at 2 PM. State offices are closed through Sunday, December 27th. The Maine CDC says some information typically provided on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays may not be available.
