County Residents Reflect on 2020 ; Looking Ahead to New Year
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - With 2020 in the rear-view mirror, many have turned their attention to 2021. Both Ben Dudley and Rinette Harrison say there are things they are looking forward to in the new year.
“Really just looking forward to see what exactly the year has in store. Like I said I really hope it’s a lot better than what happened before, and I have a good feeling that it will be.
“Seeing my family in Canada… where it’s been since March since I haven’t seen them and there’s three of them that live there. Seeing more of my grandchildren definitely.”
With one word, Harrison says 2020 was…
“Terrible… because our whole world changed when we got this so… It’s hard to put into words.”
Both say the new year brings a glimmer of hope.
“This past year has been rough… I think everybody can really say that. It’s going to be good knowing that it’s all over and hopefully the worst is behind us. I know myself I believe the school I’m going to, I think we’re going to be starting to get back in person and everything like that. Everything is starting to open back up even if it’s just slowly at first. So, it’s great knowing that everything is slowly getting back to what was normal before all of this happened.”
“Just hoping this vaccine works and everybody is back to normal.
With another year in the books, Harrison and Dudley say they are hoping for a safe and healthy new year. Cam Smith News Source 8.
