Apartment Fire in Madawaska

MADAWASKA, Maine (WAGM) - A fire in Madawaska Monday afternoon.

The fire occurred at an apartment building on School St. in Madawaska.

According to State officials, the fire is under investigation. Investigators say it’s possible the fire started as a result of the burning candle left unattended but because of the damage they can’t say that for certain. At this point the fire is considered an undetermined fire but there are no indications of foul play.

Residents are being interviewed and the case is still open.
