Michelle Bernier hired as St. Agatha Town Manager
ST. AGATHA, Maine (WAGM) - Michelle Bernier is no stranger to the town of St Agatha. Having spent three years as the Town Clerk, Bernier has now stepped into a new role.
I got a lot of townspeople pushing me… asking me to please apply for the position. I really was interested in the position already but having all the support from the people really helped me to make my decision to apply for the position.”
Bernier says her focus is on the community.
“I think it’s important to listen to the townspeople and listen to the local business owners and just get a grasp of what they’re looking for right now and what their needs look like. I’m really trying to focus on that and run with that.”
Bernier adds while having made connections over the years, she is still eager to learn.
“I’m constantly asking questions and over the last three years I realized how much I want to learn and how interested I am in municipal government which is a beast of its own. Having met and made these connections I feel like that really helped coming into this position.”
While still serving as Town Clerk, Bernier says she’s hopeful to pass that position on in the near future.
