Madawaska Mobile Vaccination Clinic, Today June 7th
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) -
FEMA, Maine Emergency Management and Aroostook Emergency Management, along with the Peace Corp, were all in Madawaska helping to administer Johnson and Johnson shots, as part of a mobile vaccine unit over the weekend.
Patrick Boland, Media Relations Representative for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has been traveling with the mobile unit around Maine, alongside medical staff from all over the country.
Patrick Boland: “We know we could go to Portland and do 500 vaccines a day, and we have. But coming up here, and doing 40 a day is just as important because this is a small town and it matters.”
The mobile vaccination clinic continues today, Monday, June 7th from 8:30am to 2:00pm -- at the Madawaska Multi Purpose Center, 160 7th Avenue, Madawaska, Maine.
Appointments are available to individuals aged 18+. To make an appointment, call the Community Vaccination Line at 1-888-445-4111 or visit VaccinateME.Maine.gov. Drop-in vaccinations will be available, first come, first served.
