PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Sargeant Family Community Center held its annual Peanuts Carnival yesterday.

Kids piled into the gymnasium as soon as the doors opened at 1 p.m. Within the first hour, organizers say about 100 kids had already come through the doors, from toddlers in strollers to kids up to 12 years old, all taking part in activities designed for a fun day during April vacation.

“We have face painting. We’ve got concessions. All the games, we get candy or a token. Our tokens at the end, you can exchange for a prize bag. So everyone walks away with some sort of prize bag,” Erica Drost said.

Participant Colton York said he played golf, shot cans, rolled dice, played ring toss and a bar game, and went in the bounce castle.

Kids collected tokens at each game, earning prizes along the way. At the end of the day, two bikes were also raffled off. Apart from the prizes, candy and a day of fun, the event gives those kids stories to bring back with them when they return to school on Monday.
