Rene Cloukey has been an avid sports fan his whole life...

...and as a youngster began dreaming about being the voice of the Boston Red Sox. That part of his dream didn’t work out, but he takes great pride in being the voice of local sports in the area. He has spent all of his adult life working in Radio and Television in Aroostook County . He got his start in radio on Thanksgiving Day 1976 (the very first song he played was “Disco Duck”) and spent eight years in radio before making the transition to WAGM TV in 1984. Over the last 35 years he has put countless miles on the WAGM vehicles covering local sports in Aroostook County and Western New Brunswick. Rene has also been a mentor to the new reporters who have started their careers at WAGM. Rene enjoys spending time with his family and friends and showing off his knowledge of One Hit Wonders from the 1970’s. He also loves stumping and being stumped by his friends on obscure sports trivia questions.
