Santa Paws to visit animal shelter

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - A special holiday event is returning Saturday to the Central Aroostook Humane Society.

Manager Betsy Hallett says the shelter sees more pets come in during winter months, with the shelter's operational costs increasing this time of year as well. Fundraising efforts are ongoing.

"We are actually doing one of our bigger fundraisers. It is our Santa Paws, which will be going on Saturday from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock, where you can bring your four-legged, your two-legged - anybody you would like, bring 'em in, have pictures done with Santa Claus."

Hallett says if you'd rather do a family photo without Santa, that can be done too. Last year she says they weren't able to host Santa Paws, but due to popular demand, he'll be back this year. Done on a donation basis, all funds raised benefit shelter animals.
