WASHBURN, Maine - Towns across the state are preparing their budgets in preparation for their annual town meetings.
Washburn Town Manager Donna Turner says that's what she and her staff have been busy doing in recent weeks.
"Our budget meeting is February 11th - getting ready for that. Just working on the budget and getting ready to close the books on January 31st. So that's always a busy time."
Turner says like most municipalities, it's the school portion of the budget that may see an increase. As for the municipal portion, she says there's little change from last year's figures.
