Arrests made in Ashland trailer theft

ASHLAND, Maine - Ashland police have recovered a stolen utility trailer, following a week-long investigation.

During the weekend of February 2nd, Ashland police received a report that a 2019 PJ trailer belonging to Doug and Lori Cray had been stolen from a Depot Street property. Cameras from the scene and from a local business provided leads.

"Working closely with Doug and Lori, and putting out a media release of the images that we found, we got numerous tips from all over The County - it was a huge help. We were able to find three suspects. During the interview process with these suspects I was able to get a written confession, however, they would not give up the trailer at that time. But good news - yesterday we were able to locate the trailer on our own and have it returned to Doug and Lori."

Sgt. Carney says two of the suspects are currently in custody at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, and charges are pending on the third suspect.
