A County man has been charged with operating under the influence after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole.
Troopers were called to the crash early this morning in E-Plantation.
Police say 24 year old Bryan Stitham of Mars Hill was traveling north when he lost control of his pickup.
Stitham went off the right side of the road and ran into the utility pole. His truck snapped the pole in half and continued through a patch of trees where it came to rest.
According to police, Stitham admitted to drinking beer earlier that morning.
Troopers then administered a standardized field sobriety test and placed Stitham under arrest for OUI.
It is suspected that speed and alcohol were the cause of the accident.
