CROSS LAKE, Maine - A Fort Kent man was killed over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash.
Maine State Police say a vehicle went off the road on Rt. 161 in Cross lake on Saturday.
Police say a pickup truck left the roadway and hit some trees. Several trees fell on power lines, causing a power outage in the Cross Lake area.
38 year old Mark Paradis of Fort Kent was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was killed.
Paradis likely had fallen asleep and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
Emera Maine responded to the scene and restored power after a brief outage.
The investigation is ongoing.
