Houlton High School was placed on 'secure' mode this morning.

Police say they were called at around 7:55 a.m. and informed that the school had received a “credible threat.”

Officials say a Facebook message from a fake account was sent to the school.

Police provided security for both the high school and elementary school.

According to police, there was no time when students were in danger. The school went on 'secure' mode as police worked to determine where the threat came from.

Police say they were able to trace the IP address and obtain a subpoena from judge to make an arrest.

A juvenile was arrested at the school and is now in custody.

Classes are continuing as normal.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Authorities say they worked with detectives, the Sheriff’s department, Border Patrol, and the school department.
