Library celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - Read Across America Day coincided with Dr. Seuss's birthday, which was Saturday.

To mark the occasion, the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library hosted an event for children and their families, complete with balloons, refreshments and crafts. Participants also enjoyed the reading of "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back."

"I liked making crafts and doing books and playing with my friends."

"I think it's good that they celebrated Dr. Seuss. I think that was the most part that I liked going to."

About 100 people turned out to celebrate the beloved author's 115th birthday.
