A Presque Isle man is facing multiple charges following his arrest Thursday in connection with a vehicle stolen from a Fort Fairfield residence.
Yesterday morning, Fort Fairfield Police received a complaint from Dennis Barnes Jr., a Fort Fairfield resident, alleging 37 year-old Willie York of Presque Isle, had stolen Barnes' vehicle from his yard.
Police began a search for York and the vehicle. At 6:40 a.m. a citizen reported a vehicle down an embankment at the Henderson and Houlton road intersection. Maine State Police responded. York was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. He was transported to the hospital in Presque Isle, treated and released.
York was arrested on four outstanding warrants and was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. A search warrant was issued for the vehicle, and 3-point-9 grams of crystal meth were found and seized. York was charged with felony possession of Schedule W drugs.
He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where he'll await his first court appearance.
