PIPD finds 15 grams of meth on traffic stop

On March 14th at approximately 0200 AM Officer Tyler Cote attempted to stop a vehicle on the Connector Road in Presque Isle. The vehicle failed to stop and took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle attempted to turn into a parking lot off of Dragon Drive and slid into a snowbank. Cpl. Hafford and Officer Alexander also responded to assist Officer Cote. Two occupants inside the vehicle, a male and a female, were identified and detained. Another male suspect fled on foot and was located a short distance away. He was also detained and later turned over to the US Border Patrol for entering the United States illegally. The female driver and male passenger were found to be in possession of approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $3,000. The female driver is charged with Failing to stop for a Police Officer, Driving to Endanger, Violation of Condition of Release, and Unlawful Possession of Schedule W drugs. She was transported to the Aroostook County Jail. The male passenger was charged with Trafficking Schedule W drugs and was released on $2,000 bail.
