Throwback Thursday takes a look at how Maine got its name

With Maine celebrating its Bicentennial, it's worth looking back and seeing how the state got here in the first place.

According to David Raymond, the Chairman of the Arts and Science Dept at NMCC, it started back in 1622 when two men, Ferdinando Gorges and John Mason, were issued charters by the council of New England to explore the area that covered Southern Maine and parts of New Hampshire.
