Two vehicles disabled in New Sweden crash

NEW SWEDEN, Maine - On Sunday, December 16, at about 4:30 PM, The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Route 161 in New Sweden.

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Sheriff Sgt. Erica Pelletier determined that Francis Goodness (62) of New Sweden was pulling out of Northstar Variety in his 2014 Toyota Tundra when a 17 year old male of New Sweden was traveling south on Route 161 in his 2002 Chevrolet Suburban.

Goodness did not see the oncoming vehicle and struck the Chevrolet Suburban as he pulled out of the driveway.

The drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and were not injured.

They were wearing their seat belts at the time if the collision.

The involved vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
