Vehicle hits house in Perham

PERHAM, Maine - Washburn Fire Chief Nathan Allen says a teen female driver lost control of her vehicle at the intersection of the Nutting and Carson roads Saturday around 8 a.m., striking the corner of a home on the Carson Road. The driver also struck a propane tank, breaking the line. Washburn Fire & Rescue and Emera Maine responded, shutting off the propane and electricity to the home.

Caribou Fire & Ambulance Service transported the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, to Cary Medical Center for minor injuries. Her car sustained significant damage, as did the home, owned by Nancy and Jerry Gagnon. Both car and home were insured. The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office investigated the crash.
