Woman sentenced to 4 year prison term for drug trafficking

Saint-Léonard, New Brunswick - A 43-year-old woman from Saint-Léonard, N.B. has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking.

Chantal Coté appeared in Court of Queen's Bench in Edmundston on June 26, 2018, and pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. She is also prohibited from possessing a firearm for life and must submit a DNA sample to court.

She was arrested on two occasions on March 16 and 30, 2018 following the execution of search warrants at a residence in Saint-Léonard. During the two searches, the Saint-Léonard RCMP Crime Reduction Unit seized a large quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and a quantity of cash.
