Alpine ski race at Bigrock

The State Alpine ski meet is just a couple of week away.

Teams have not had many meets this year because of the weather. Bigrock hosted 2 slalom races today to help get the skiers ready for the upcoming County and state Championships.On the boys side.Bryce Madore won the first race with teammate Austin Plourde and Pierre Hickey of Madawaska following. In the second race Sam Roy of Wisdom picked up the win with Bryce Madore and Pierre Hickey following. Fort Kent won the team event Presque Isle was second.

In the girls game Riley Sibley of Fort Kent won both slalom races. Kailee Guimond and Lyndsay Ouellette of Fort Kent were second and third in the first race. Guimond and Elly Sirois of Fort Kent were second and third in the second race.

The skiers are scheduled to be back at Bigrock on Saturday for more races.

The States are under two weeks away and this year the States for Class B will be at Black Mountain in Rumford. We will have more with all four County ski teams tomorrow night at 11 on Sports Extra.
