Ashland boys look for success.

The Ashland Boys basketball team would love to finally get to play on the Cross Insurance Center floor. It's been a few years since the team made the trip to Bangor and that is the goal this year
(Jack Routhier):" We are looking to make it to Bangor this year with a good young team. A lot of tall guys it should be fun."

The Hornets just missed out on a playoff spot last year and coach Lucas Belanger would like to get into the post season this year

(Lucas Belanger):" Five seniors three of them returning from last years team. We have some underclassmen who will pick up from the seven seniors who graduated last year. We finished 5 and 13 and just missed out on the playoffs. We want to get back into the playoffs and make some noise."

The Hornets are tall for a Class D team and they will look to get into transition. Dylan Haley is one of the go to player on the team and he will look to provide leadership to younger players

(Dylan Haley):" It feels good I am looking to help the younger kids how it goes and how to play."

Belanger says the team still has some growing pains but they are working through that and working hard in practice

Belanger:" Trying to run our offensive set. Run them fast and in certain situations. Defensively just trying to stick to man to man."

Belanger says he thinks there will be a log jam with several County teams in the middle of the pack battling for post season berths

Belanger:" There are four or five of us in that middle of the pack. We are all pretty even and will try to fit into that Class D playoffs."
