The Can Am 250 is in the books for another year. 13 teams started the race and 3 scratched during the event. The ten other teams all finished the race by 3 pm this afternoon. Martin Massicotte won his
9th Can Am Sled Dog title . Massicotte crossed the line early this morning at 3:09 am to pick up the fourth straight title. He was followed across the line by fellow Quebec Mushers Denis Tremblay and Andre Longhamps. Two first time entrants were fourth and fifth . Erin Altemus of Minnesota and Dylan Harris of Utah both finished the race by 9 am.
(Erin Altemus):" It did change from leg to leg. Most of it was nicely groomed hard packed snow. There was one section they hadn't groomed and it was a little bit slower. All of that is to be expected."
(Dylan Harris):" I have heard of the Can Am and heard of the race since I was 10 or 11. I always heard it was very challenging and I had some trained up dogs and decided to come and run it. They came on strong at the end and it turned out great.">
