Charity Challenge was a huge success.

The Cloukey Charity Challenge was a record breaking year.
The check presentation was made earlier today to members of the Area Management team. A check for 5920 and 99 cents was presented earlier today. This was by far the most successful Challenge yet. Once again both Limestone and Long Lake donated their courses so all the money raised stayed right here in the County to benefit Aroostook Special Olympians.
Richard:" We take all the money that is raised in Aroostook County and we are all volunteers so all that money truly goes back for the Athletes. Last year we were able to buy them hooded sweat shirts. That was really good because it was really cold up on the hill. It also helps us get the medals that we award. We are the only area that gives out medals at our spring games. It is important to have money to do those kinds of things."

Just a side note After the story was posted an anonymous donor dropped off a check for 79.01 to make it an even 6000 dollars for Aroostook Special Olympics. . It was the largest number of golfers ever for the event and the auction items were a huge success. Thank you to the golfers who took part and to the businesses who donated prizes for the tournament. Plans are already underway for next year.
