Madawaska host ski races

The High School skiers were on the trails today at Four Seasons Trails in Madawaska.
This was a mass start event and the second regular season Aroostook League meet of the year. Miguel Sanclemente of Fort Kent picked up the win finishing the race in a time of 17:08, 7 seconds ahead of Dakota Yakel of Caribou. Justin Pelletier of Madawaska was third with Samuel Bosse fourth and Carter Belanger of Caribou ending up in fifth spot.
Madawaska won the team event ending with 780 points Caribou was second with 778 and Fort Kent was third. Ashland, MSSM and Presque Isle also competed.
Now to the girls race with Isabelle Jandreau of Madawaska continuing her success. The defending Class C State Champion won the race finishing in a time of 18:46 two minutes ahead of Dolcie Tanguay of MSSM, Kassandra Nelson of Ashland ended up third with Macy Wakem of Caribou and Emma Pelletier of Madawaska following.
Madawaska won the team event with 768 points, Fort Kent was two points bakc and Caribou ended up third.
Presque Isle, Ashland and MSSM also had full teams.
