A County basketball player will not be playing for the University of Maine Women's team next year.Van Buren's Parise Rossignol said it was a very tough decision, but she has decided to step away from the Bears basketball team and concentrate on academics and pursue other interests

Parise Rossignol:" I think once you realize you are not having as much fun as you want to anymore you have to make a decision that makes you happiest. It took a long time to think about that and I came to the conclusion that I would be happiest stepping away and pursuing other things. It was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. I love U Maine and I love my teammates so much and it was an honor to be able to represent my state playing basketball, but I took a long time a lot of though and prayer about it and I feel really comfortable with my decision and I feel I made the right one."

Rossignol says she will continue to pursue her degree in secondary ed and get involved in other things on campus along with her church and intramural sports and get involved in other things the University has to offer
