The Presque Isle Wildcats hockey team is back in the Regional Championship game for the first time in four years. Here is a recap of Saturday's action
Early on Waterville Winslow was firing on net Andre Daigle made some huge saves as he faces 19 first period shots. He gave up just one goal in that period and then the Cats The Wildcats turned it on and they pick up the 6-3 win. Jake Stevens had a hat trick and Gage Letourneau ended with 2 goals. Colby Carlisle had a goal and Connor Demerchant had three assists. After the shaky first period The Wildcats turned it on and Daigle ended with 28 saves Presque Isle advances to the Championship with a 6-3 win. The Cats will now take on Old Town Orono on Tuesday at the Alfond Arena.
(Andre Daigle:" I think I had a really good grip on the game. I was ready I was really energetic and all over the place. I had a good feel for the puck."
(Jake Stevens):" If he didn't have a good first period it would have been very bad for us. We did great after that. It was nice."
(Carl Flynn:" In between the first and second periods I said to the kids. You have nothing to lose you are not playing like you usually play. You are treating the puck like a hot potato. You are just trying to get rid of it as fast as you. Do what you have done all year skate shoot and have success. We scored 41 seconds into the second period and our game just flowed from there.
