WAGM and the United Way have a long standing partnership, and have held many telethons throughout the decades. In this week’s Throwback Thursday we’ll dial the time machine back to 2001, where we’ll take a look at that year’s United Way Telethon and see how the United Way’s support helped provide childcare opportunities in Aroostook County.

Today’s telethon in Partnership with the United Way will go on to benefit and fund dozens of programs throughout Aroostook county, and your donation can go on to make a lasting impact.

Every year the United Way helps fund countless programs and organizations aimed at improving the lives of area residents. But one initiative supported by the United Way itself aims to provide Mainers with information and resources… day or night.

Children ages birth until 5 are able to receive books from Dolly's Imagination Library. One family shared the impact the program has had on their children.

It takes thousands of dollars to ensure that every county child receives one book a month from birth through age 5.

The United Way of Aroostook has been running the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program since 2010 in the County. WAGM in partnership with United Way of Aroostook will be holding a telethon to raise money to help fund the program.

This coming Thursday, WAGM and United Way of Aroostook will be holding a telethon. This year, the money will be going to support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
