Each year, thousands of County Families and Seniors struggle to keep their homes warm during the long, cold Aroostook winter. Although Home Energy Assistance Programs provide relief to many, some do not qualify or simply cannot wait for help that, due to regulations, can take weeks to process. The Heating Homes with Helping Hands Telethon, a partnership between WAGM-TV, Aroostook County Action Program and the United Way of Aroostook, will raise much needed funds to provide immediate support to County Families and Seniors who find themselves in emergency situations without heating fuel and no other assistance, often in below zero temperatures. Additionally, through the partnership, every effort will be made to follow-up with those needing emergency heating assistance - once the crisis has passed and fuel delivered - to help the family or individual prevent future such crises.

Please join WAGM, ACAP and United Way of Aroostook on Thursday November 15th from 5 am to 7 pm and call 207-554-5153 to donate.
