NorState Federal Credit Union donated more than $6500 to Farm of Hope

Friday, the NorState Federal Credit Union donated more than $6500 to the Dahlgren Skidgel Farm of Hope in Caribou. The money was raised through an annual fundraise NorState Federal Credit Union does through their coin sorters. The coin sorters are located in Madawaska, Presque Isle and Fort Kent. When they are used, a 2% fee is charged to members and a 5% fee is charged to non members. 100% of the money collected from those fees is then donated to an organization in the County. The effort to raise money for the Farm of Hope began in January of last year.

Scammers pose as Emera representatives

If you've received a call from Emera asking for money you could be on the line with a scammer. Mid-April marks the time when the company can start disconnecting people if they have unpaid bills. Scammers have taken this opportunity to contact people to ask for money over the phone.
