Reaction to the closure of Ashland's ReEnergy plant

It's a closure that will certainly affect the community. We reported to you last week that ReEnergy in Ashland will be ceasing operations in early April. That decision comes after the Maine Public Utilities Commission decided not to award a contract to the Ashland biomass electricity plant for the sale of energy to Emera Maine. Scott Ferland is the general manager of Maine Woods Company, located in Portage. Ferland says this news is "causing his mill heartburn".... as they ship bark and sawdust to ReEnergy's Ashland mill. He calls this very detrimental.
