Mandatory Inspection to cause Madawaska international bridge to close

An inspection of the Madawaska International Bridge will cause delays for travelers between Edmundston and Madawaksa. Newssource 8's Megan Cole says this will be an inconveniece for commuters, but is a necessity to monitor the safety of the structure.

Town of Houlton awarded $95,000 for culvert replacement project

The Morningstar Road culvert has been a cause for concern for almost a decade now. Back in 2010 it was identified as having the most restrictive access because of the targeted impassable culvert. The culvert is at the stream crossing of Morningstar road and Moose Brook, where it enters the mainstream of the Meduxnekeag River. The new funding will go towards taking the culvert out and putting in a bridge.
