Program aims to educate youth and families about screen time

The 5210 Let's Go program at ACAP, along with the Aroostook county Health Network are hosting both youth and family viewings of Screenagers, a video aimed at teaching youth, teachers and family members how to be healthy with today's technology. Screenagers can be viewed at the following time and locations: March 20, 2018 at 1:40 p.m. Student viewing - Easton, March 21, 2018 at 6 p.m. Family viewing at Easton High School (GYM), March, 29 2018 12-2p.m. Teen and Family Viewing Washburn Jr/ High School (GYM), April, 2 2018 Family Viewing 6 p.m. Central Aroostook Jr/ High School (Music Room), April, 12 2018 Family Viewing at 6 p.m. Wisdom Jr/ High School (Cafeteria), April 13, 2018 Student Viewing – Wisdom (St. Agatha).

Community members in Presque Isle raise awareness of domestic violence

Community members in Presque Isle took part in an annual walk to raise awareness of domestic violence. Walk It Up Presque Isle is put on by the Hope and Justice Project. The event is about supporting survivors and honoring victims of domestic violence. Before beginning the walk, attendees heard from domestic violence survivor Dian Weaver.

Northern Maine fair one step closer to changing its date

We told you last night the fair has requested has submitted a formal request to the Commissioner of Agriculture to change next year's fair dates to June 28th through July 6th. This is because they found out in August that their carnival provider, Smoky's Greater Shows, will not be able to return for the regular fair week due to scheduling conflicts. Today the fair presented in support of the change in dates at a hearing in Augusta. According to members of the fair board, the department of agriculture hopes to issue a decision by next Friday.
