Workplace safety continues as top priority for Ashland municipal departments

Workplace safety continues to be a top priority for all municipal departments in Ashland. Town Manager Cyr Martin says the goal is to have departments approved for a special certification. The Safety and Health Award for Public Employers - known as SHAPE - recognizes public sector employers who maintain an exemplary safety and health management system. Acceptance into SHAPE by the Maine Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Standards is an achievement that distinguishes an organization as a model for workplace safety and health.

Scammers pose as Emera representatives

If you've received a call from Emera asking for money you could be on the line with a scammer. Mid-April marks the time when the company can start disconnecting people if they have unpaid bills. Scammers have taken this opportunity to contact people to ask for money over the phone.
