Corn maze at Goughan’s Berry Farm is taking shape for this year’s new theme
Farmer Mark Goughan says the 2026 theme will be patriotic, but details remain under wraps
CARIBOU, Maine (WAGM) - While strawberry season is underway at Goughan’s Berry Farm, farmer Mark Goughan is already driving through the growing cornfield to shape this year’s corn maze.
Goughan said he creates the maze design by driving through the cornfield to produce a picture visible from above. He said he has been through the field once and has started a second pass, with about four total runs needed before the design is complete.
“Matter of fact, I’ve been through it once already and I’ve started to go through it twice and I have to go through it about four times before I get it just right,” Goughan said. “Made a few mistakes this year in cutting it out.”
Patriotic theme confirmed, full reveal still to come
Goughan said the 2026 maze will have a patriotic theme but declined to share further details.
“I can only tell you it’s a very patriotic theme. That’s the only thing I’m going to say, and we will see because I don’t know how it’s going to come out yet; we will have to check that out,” he said.
The maze is typically revealed in August. Last year’s theme was the Flintstones. Once it opens, visitors will have until the end of October to walk through it.
